Donald Trumps 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster
Pedigree matters when it comes to car auctions and this 1997 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster can claim possibly the most controversial previous owner in modern history. Former President Donald J. Trump custom-ordered this Diablo new in 1997 and owned it for five years. The Blu Le Mans colorway wasn't offered in 1997, something Trump sidestepped by having a special relationship with Lamborghini, who provided him with loaner Diablos for promotional purposes. That makes it the only Diablo in Blu Le Mans made in 1997, and a personalized plaque with "Donald Trump 1997 Diablo" noting the provenance. The 5.7-liter, 492 horsepower V12 and Viscous Traction all-wheel-drive system make the car relatively quick even for 2024, with a 4.1-second 0-60 time and top speed of 202 MPH. The car goes to auction via Barrett-Jackson at their Scottsdale event.
